Granada 2013-1013

Granada 2013-1013

I must confess this article is probably one of my favourite. Even though I live in the Jaen area, Granada is actually closer to my beloved village. I do remember the summer of 2007 when visiting for the first time Granada, seeing the beauty of this unique place. Granada has a thousand years of history, culture, and most important its people…

To commemorate the thousand year anniversary of Granada I will contribute to mention again the rich cultural place with its people. And if I mention people I mention the Gitanos and the legacy of the Al Andalus.

Ernest Hemingway wrote “How lazily the sun goes down in Granada, it hides beneath the water, it conceals in the Alhambra!” Shakespeare also said “Every inquisitive traveller keeps Granada in his heart, without having even visited it.” Chateaubriand argues that “Granada is like the crystal bride of our dreams; whoever beholds it has the illusion of visiting it again.”
